Port Proxy and Powershell Remoting Questions

Hello,

I was hoping someone could shed some light on the “PowerShell for Post-exploitation and Lateral Movement” lab

We are using the module:

post(windows/manage/portproxy)

and

exploit/windows/local/powershell_remoting

I’m kind if confused as to why we are using these modules as i don’t remember reading about them in the PDF slides (i could be wrong).
What is the difference between these modules and a tools like Proxychains, Sock4 proxys or Portfwd?

Am i able to use Proxychains or Portfwd to solve these labs?

Just trying to understand the difference between these tools as pivoting is something i’m really trying to hone in on before i take the eCPPT exam.
